A native of Lithonia, Georgia, Jerry F. Hutchins devoted his life to the Lord at the age of 13. He was licensed to preach in 1982 at Salem Baptist Church in Lilburn Ga. He began his first Pastorate in 1984 when he was called to the St. Galilee Baptist Church in Sparta, Ga where he led for 3 years. In August 2011, after serving the Timothy Baptist Church for 24 years, Bishop Hutchins identified and installed his successor and retired from Timothy in 2017 after 30 years of service.
In January 2007, Bishop Hutchins started a Bible Institute in Stone Mountain, Georgia to provide mid-week Bible classes for the members of Timothy who lived in the metropolitan Atlanta area. That Bible Institute led to the organization of a second church, Kingdom Now, which Bishop Hutchins launched in November 2008 and currently serves as Senior Pastor.

Kingdom Now Church began as a ministry January 2007 as a Bible Institute. Bishop Jerry Hutchins started the Bible Institute as an advanced form of study for the members of Timothy Baptist Church of Athens Georgia (where he served as Senior Pastor) who were living in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The Bible Institute met each Wednesday night and in July 2007, Bishop Hutchins met with the people of Timothy and informed them that he felt God leading him to start a church in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The members of Timothy embraced the vision of an added church and agreed to change the time of their Sunday morning worship in order to accommodate the addition.
After over a year of searching for a facility, Bishop Hutchins was able to find a building at 6794 Covington Highway in Lithonia, GA. Kingdom Now Church began having service at that location on the second Sunday in November 2008. With a mission statement, vision statement, meaning of citizenship, meaning of supporter, covenant agreement, statement of faith and the leadership of Bishop and First Lady Hutchins, Kingdom Now Church was on the move.
